The Challenge

WebEyeCare was not a new website trying to gain its first organic traffic. It was an established ecommerce brand that had already built meaningful search visibility, then suffered a major decline after Google’s Helpful Content Update.

The site’s traffic dropped from 17,688 visits in August 2022 to 7,040 visits in January 2023, creating a serious SEO recovery challenge. The problem was not simply that the site needed more content. The existing content needed to become more useful, more complete, more trustworthy, and better aligned with how users actually search for contact lenses and eye care products.

Keyword visibility also improved strongly. Top 1-3 Google rankings grew from 160 in January 2023 to 860 in September 2024, while Top 4-10 rankings grew from 957 to 4,116 over the same period.

The project also showed improvement at the page level. One example from the case material is the Acuvue Oasys 12-pack product page, where organic traffic increased from 234 visits in August 2022 to 701 visits in October 2024. Another example is the Precision1 for Astigmatism 90-pack page, which was shown in the case material as a before-and-after content improvement example.
